LGU Manay thru the Municipal Health Office officially launches the celebration of the Nutrition Month guided with the theme, "Sa PPAN , Sama –sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat, Para sa Lahat" and the sub theme " Food at Nutrisyon Security, Maging Priority ! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin! " This theme highlights the importance of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PLAN) and the collective responsibility we all share in ensuring adequate nutrition for everyone, across all life stages. Nutrition is the foundation of a healthy life. It provides the energy we need to learn, work and play. It strengthens our immune systems, preventing us from acquiring infections. This month, our office have a variety of activities to engage, from informative talks and interactive workshops to fun games. Among these activities are the following: 1. Launching of Nutrition Month 2. Deworming 3. Oral Health Examination 4. Physical Examination 5. Early Detection of Kidney Diseases 6. Symposium for Obese and Overweight Children along with their Mother's 7. OPT 8. Supplemental Feeding 9. IEC 10. Medical Consultation for PWDs These activities are in collaboration with the Office of our Municipal Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang thru our Municipal Administrator, Jameco Dayanghirang, VM Alfonso Benjie Lahora Jr., Municipal Councilor Mae Dayanghirang Llavore, RN, Municipal Councilor Emarfel Nino Panuayan, Municipal Councilor Mayang Lumando, PB Kim Moralizon, Doph Manay headed by Dr. Ariel-Gustilo Maghari thru their Nutrition Dietician maam Eleonor Burgos, MSWDO headed by maam Lilian Apas Dayanghirang thru the Child Development Workers. MHO encourages the community to participate actively in the various activities planned throughout the month. Together, let us use this month as an opportunity to learn, share and grow together in our understanding of nutrition towards achieving a healthier and more nourished community!

A total of 31 Senior Citizens from LGU Manay were recognized as beneficiaries under Republic Act No. 11982, signed on February 26, 2024, “An Act Granting Benefits to Filipino Octogenarians and Nonagenarians,” which amends Republic Act No. 10868, also known as the “Centenarians Act of 2016.” The LGU Manay, through the Office of the Senior Citizens, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) for facilitating the release of cash gift to the 31 qualified Senior Citizens who have reached milestone ages, as part of the 2nd batch payout for 2025. The Octogenarians (ages 80 & 85) and Nonagenarians (ages 90 & 95) each received Ten Thousand Pesos (₱10,000.00) from the National Government in recognition of their longevity and contributions to society, and an additional Three Thousand Pesos (₱3,000.00) from the Local Government Unit of Manay as a counterpart to the said cash gift. The distribution of the cash gifts was held today July 9,2025 at MHO Conference Room in Manay, Davao Oriental attended by the following individuals: From the Office of the Provincial Governor Nelson L.
