Pursuant to the celebration of the 124th Civil Service Month with its decade long theme: “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant- Heroes", Tourism Month Celebration with this year's theme: "Tourism and Peace" and the observance of the International Coastal Clean Up Day, the Local Government Unit of Manay thru its various departments conducted the Coastal Clean Up in the coastal places in Manay frequently visited by tourists and visitors: the Manay Baywalk (Barangay Central) and Hilda Park in Tagtalisay (Barangay Zaragoza). This year's Coastal Clean Up Day have objectives in Harnessing the Power of People to Fight Ocean Trash. In its realization, various partnership with volunteer organizations and individuals around the globe, the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) engages people to remove trash from the world's beaches and waterways. The trash collected were weighed and sorted to gain more knowledge and data on the frequent trashes that were washed on the shorelines of Manay. A small step on conserving and protection of the Manayan seascape as is coincide with Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang's 10-point agenda: the Environmental Protection. It was also noted that Manay Bay was included in list of Manay's cultural property among other landforms and waterforms. As we celebrate the Tourism Month 2024 with the theme: "Tourism and Peace", Manayan tourist establishments and community embarked in various capability building with the collaboration of the Department of Tourism Region XI. Last September 5, 2024, our tourism stakeholders have given Filipino Brand of Service Excellence. This training aims to amplify the Filipino Brand as well as to uplift services given to the tourists by the promotion of the 7Ms core values: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, and May Pag-asa. The FBSE training was given by the former DOT Regional Director of Caraga Region, Mam Leticia Dela Cruz-Tan, citing that Siargao also started in a small tourism but when its potential was found the community have been empowered for the tourism to develop. As one of the thrust of Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang, the tourism industry of Manay is now being assessed for its full capacity in order to gain momentum for its full swing and with its momentum Peace is one of the things that should be in partnership and given importance too.
