Davao Oriental State University (formerly Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology) have visited the Municipality of Manay to discuss possible partnership in the field of education, research and development. The visit also aimed to consult the Barangay Local Government Unit of Taocanga for the same purpose as it is identified as one of those Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) of the municipality. Barangay Taocanga also is noted for the presence of various under researched flora and fauna that are potential for conservation and protection. The team headed by Dr. Roy G. Ponce, current DOrSU President and Dr. Edito B. Sumile (former DOSCST President) paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor's Office thru the Municipal Administrator Florentina M. Quibo.
