NSB SA CAPASNAN

Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay or NSB is an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) which aims to; increase awareness about the services offered by the DTI through its Negosyo Centers, identify MSMEs with business operations within barangays, and conduct business development assistance and other services. Barangay Capasnan is an ELCAC Barangay and was cleared last 2021 on the presence of armed conflict. Today, February 16, 2022, the NSB initiative was fulfilled in the barangay. It was attended by 25 participants coming from different purok of the barangay together with the facilitators coming the diffetent NGAs. There were trainings given (Banana Chips Making, Pickle Making, Banana Cake Making and Coco Vinegar Making) and entrepreneurial mind setting for those individuals that would like to have a business. BLGU Capasnan with their Punong Barangay Hon. Alvino T. Manuay extended their greatest thanks to the different agencies who attended the said event. At the end of the program, a total of ten (10) participants was raffled to receive starter kits worth Php. 10,000.00! Special thanks to DTI Davao Oriental PD Rommel R. Cozo, Mam Sylvia Ordiz of DTI, JB Mark Piañar, Trainers Flordeliza Garao, Robert Getes and Richard Rosete, from DTI Davao Oriental Vina Ynclino, from Philippine Coconut Authority Leah Caballero and Lito Manliguez and MTIO Jan Michael Belena MTIO of Manay. Also to Hon. Alvino T. Manuay and BLGU Capasnan for the warm welcome and support. Indeed, DTI assists and DTI works with the assistance of different stakeholders.

DTI-RAPID VISITS MANAY! - RURAL AGRO-INDUSTRIAL PARTNERSHIP FOR INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH (RAPID GROWTH)

A proposed project to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), RAPID Growth, which will be implemented in 2017-2022, is a PhP 2.3-billion project that aims to propel agriculture-based processing enterprises and entrepreneurial communities to become innovative, productive, and competitive so that they will be capacitated in meeting the challenges of the global market. Specifically, this project aims to provide focused, firm-level, value chain-based, and climate-smart assistance and financing program to micro and small businesses, through enabling sectoral and trade policies which are designed to provide enhanced access to institutional, regional, and world markets. A Free Prior Informed Consent held together with the IP Leaders from the different Barangays of Manay with the NCIP Davao Oriental and the DTI-RAPID Team at the Sangguniang Bayan of Manay for the purpose of the discussion of the said project that will be implemented in the municipality. A courtesy call was also made to the Municipal Mayor Japhet M. Quibo and the Municipal Administrator Florentina M. Quibo to discuss about the upcoming program by the RAPID Team headed by Glady Dela Cruz (RAPID Provincial Coordinator), Sunny M. Dumandan and May A. Labuson (Value Chain Facilitators), NC Manay JBC Mark Piañar and MTIO Jan Michael Belena. Indeed, this project will help our farmer MSMEs use their lands productively.

BUSINESS NAME

We would like to inform all people who would like to have a business to register your business' name with the DTI. The Business Name Registration merely provides the business a LEGAL IDENTITY; in order to actually operate the business, you need a BUSINESS PERMIT. The Business Name Registration Certificate from the DTI will also be the primary requirement for the Business Permit and Licensing Division especially that Manay is implementing the Electronic Business Processing and Licensing System of e-BPLS. Also, a gentle reminder to our Manayan business owners to look into the expiration dates of your DTI Business Name Registration Certificate. Be reminded that you have six months after the expiration to renew your business name. You can also have early renewal of your business name registration too.
