August 22, 2024. Yesterday, the DOH DCHD Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Grace CT Berguia and sir Roger Palec conducted Pre ROA (Red Orchid Award) Validation at MHO Manay. This is the second time that the LGU Manay thru Manay Municipal Health Office to join in this prestigious recognition given by DOH to agencies implementing a 100% tobacco free environment. The LGU Manay headed by our Municipal Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang is encouraging the public to adhere with our Anti-Smoking and Vaping Ordinance. We have implemented initial activities to prove that we are a smoke-free office as part of our health and wellness initiatives. The validation for the Red Orchid Award by the WHO and DOH DCHD is set on September 2024. Best of luck MHO!

The LHB (Local Health Board) Meeting was convened yesterday afternoon at MHO Conference Room with our Municipal Mayor, Jon Marco Dayanghirang presiding, together with his Municipal Vice Mayor Alfonso Benjie Lahora, DOH Representative, sir Roger Palec , MHO Team headed by our OIC MHO, Jenie B Lahora and other stakeholders. Agenda of the meeting are the following: 1. Approval of the Proposed Agenda 2. Reading and Adoption of the Previous Minutes of the Meeting (June 26, 2024) 3. Items for Discussion A. PAS ZOD Implementation Status B. ROA Validation C. Super Health Center D. DTTB Status E. Bakuna Champion Roll Out Activity F. Proposed Legislations for Approval 1. Resolution Requesting the Adoption and Approval of AOP 2025 2. Resolution Requesting the Adoption of Provincial PHATSS Ordinance 3. Resolution for the Declaration of the Municipality of Manay as ZOD (Zero Open Defecation) Municipality 4. Resolution Requesting the Committee Chairman on Budget and Appropriation to Require Barangay Water Service Providers to Include in the Budget the Appropriation for Water Disinfection and Water Sampling and for ZOD Program for the Municipality to Achieve Safely Managed Water Supply and Sustain Safely Managed Sanitation as per Indicator in the SGLG for Health 5. Resolution Amending and Updating the Comprehensive Anti-Smoking and Vaping Ordinance 6. Other Matters All necessary data’s were legibly discussed and presented well by OIC MHO, Jenie B Lahora, RMT, together with Sanitation Inspector III, Josephine Tengson Tuco and Reverlyn Pingot Panuayan, RN. The esteemed Municipal Mayor, Jon Marco Dayanghirang and Municipal Vice Mayor Alfonso Benjie Lahora speak of its full support and commitment towards the implementation of the different health programs for the wellness and health of the people of Manay. Toward the meeting’s end, our Municipal Mayor appreciated all the members of the LHB for their invaluable presence and support in providing health care services to the community. Further, he commended the MHO for the efforts exerted giving positive impact to his administration. And, lastly he hopes that everyone will continue to be actively engaged so that the community can have a better, safer and healthier place to live at.
