Last Tuesday, August 13, 2024, our OIC MHO, Jenie Lahora, RMT accompanied the PHO Davao Oriental Team headed by Provincial Sanitation Inspector V, Marichu Diampon for a Courtesy Call to our Municipal Administrator, Jameco Dayanghirang on behalf of our Municipal Mayor Jon Marco M. Dayanghirang. The PHO Team emphasized the vision of the province to achieve Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) status before the year ends and subsequently attain universal access to safe and adequate sanitary facilities by 2028 which are also the goals of the Philippine Health Agenda (2016-2022) and aligned with the health targets of the FOURmula One (F1) Plus and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of safely managed sanitation services by 2030. The PHO Davao Oriental together with the MHO Manay Team will conduct Pre Assessment of ZOD (Zero Open Defecation) Implementation to all the seventeen barangays in our municipality starting on August 13-15, 2024.

Last August 8, 2024, BSI from the different barangays submitted water sample to our Municipal Sanitation Inspector, maam Josephine Tengson Tuco for Colikat Rapid Test. Out of seventeen barangays, three barangays didn't submit water sample for Colikat Rapid Test and only two (2) barangays passed the water testing (see chart below). MHO Manay commended the PHO Davao Oriental thru the Provincial Sanitation Inspector, Marichu Diampon for the Colikat Rapid Test and the BSIs and HRH for facilitating the water sample collection.
