Here are the photos from the AGRICULTURAL TOURISM FAIR that happened last October 21, 2023, attended by various stakeholders and Indigenous People. This year's fair focuses on the collaboration of the Indigenous People with the Local Government Unit. With the approval of the NCIP en banc for the CADT of Manay signals the need for further partnership with the Indigenous People of Manay. Special thanks to the Indigenous Political Structure of Manay headed by Hon. Jesus L. Mamparo Jr. (SB Member / Likid) and IPMR Jusvin Sumambot. The MAO Manay headed by OIC Renerio Tumambing and their staff assisted the said program. This event is part of the celebration of the 126th Araw ng Manay and Parochial Fiesta of St. Francis Xavier Parish. Municipality of Manay, September 28, 2023---The Local Government Unit of Manay thru the Municipal Health Office got its first ever "Red Orchid Award (ROA)" after a thorough validation conducted by the Department of Health Validation Team from Davao de Oro headed by Dr. Annie P. La Rosa - DMO V. The municipality of Manay earned one of the most prestigious distinction as a Red Orchid Awardee from the Department of Health (DOH) for its relentless campaign in prohibiting cigarette smoking in public places. The Red Orchid Awards is the DOH's search among government hospitals, offices, and local government units (LGUs) that implement a 100-percent tobacco-free environment and meeting the quality standards on tobacco prevention and control set by the World Health Organization (WHO). Kudos to all our partner agencies namely: LGU Manay headed by our esteemed Municipal Mayor, Jon Marco Dayanghirang, Provincial Health Office, Dr. Reden V. Bersaldo, MD, MHcA, PNP Manay Station, PCpt Albert Allan P. Almario and Manay Tourism, Jan Michael Belena, our support groups (Local Youth Development Council, Community Service Organizations),volunteers (BLGUs especially along coastal barangays and BHWS) and employees who took part in attaining the goal of this endeavor as we garnered a score of 104%. Your cooperation, participation and enduring efforts paved the way for us to gain this prestigious distinction. It is believed that through our collaborative efforts, we will be able to maximize and realize our plans and activities relevant to our goal for a "Tobacco-Smoke Free Manay, now and in the years to come", thus will create a healthier, proactive and more productive community.
