Barangay Concepcion having been one of the eight original barangays of the Municipality of Manay celebrated its 132nd Araw ng Barangay and Celebration of the Fiesta of Immaculada Concepcion with the theme: "Malambuong Kinabuhing Diyosnon Susi Sa Lig-ong Pamilya, Komunidad nga Kanunay Gakauyon, Kauswagan Tiunay nga Mapadayon". This celebration paved way for the 2nd KAYA Festival. The word KAYA derived from those fishes and other fresh water animals catch with the help of "Tangi", a netlike basket used to trap fishes and crabs. The Kaya is also the way of life by the indigenous people of Concepcion and the first thing to do for food preparation. KAYA may consists of Saudnon, Fresh water eel (Kasili), Wabang (Fresh water shrimps), Kimpe (Fresh water crab) and other fishes. 2nd KAYA FEST also included the 1st Search for Barangay Concepcion Model Family. The search, aims to seek for the Family whose actively involved in the barangay activities, their family backgrounds and looking at their sustainance for food by having a backyard gardens. The celebration of Concepcion is a yearly reminder of their Culture of Kaya or the Culture of the Preparation of indigenous foods. Barangay Concepcion's collaboration headed by Punong Barangay Jonefort Bantayan with the LGU Manay headed by Mayor Jon Marco Dayanghirang makes the role of the barangay significant in the progress of the municipality.
