March 16, 2023 | The Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) of LGU–Manay, conducted a series of building inspections at Gregorio Moralizon Elementary School – I and Evaristo Moralizon National Vocational High School. The inspection team is composed of staff from MEO namely, Engr. Nak Balaba, Engr. Achilles Erpe Anacaya, and Building Inspector I Justine Orphea Palomares, together with the staff from MDRRMO Jade Nash Vincent Paragas and Ranlod Paul Peliño. During the inspection, the team assessed the H.E. Building of GMES-I and Grade 9 & Senior High Buildings of EMNVHS to determine the general condition of the said structures after the occurrence of earthquake and aftershocks last week to ensure that these are safe to occupy. The inspection team also identified various defects and problems of the structures, and in return, suggested several mitigating measures to retrofit the identified defects. Buildings are inspected to ensure that occupants’ health and safety, and building standards are followed. It is required for new construction, renovations, and other trades. The Local Government Unit of Manay headed by Municipal Mayor Jon Marco M. Dayanghirang always prioritizes the safety of Manayans and ensures that all types of structures in the locality followed the building standards and are safe for occupancy.
