TOURISM DIALOGUE: SAN IGNACIO, OLD MACOPA, & HOLY CROSS

Pursuant to the inclusive and participative governance being implemented by Mayor Jon Marco M. Dayanghirang, a dialogue was made together with the Tourism Stakeholders of Barangay San Ignacio, Holy Cross, and Old Macopa. The stakeholders are classified into; Primary Tourism Enterprises (PTE) and Secondary Tourism Enterprises (STE). PTEs are enterprises that are directly engaged by the tourists such as resorts, mabuhay accommodations and inns while STEs are establishments that supports the needs of the tourists like restaurants, ambulatory clinics and spas. Municipal Administrator Ednar G. Dayanghirang headed the dialogue and attended by tourism establishments. The program was also graced by Hon. Jan Mae Dayanghirang-Llavore, RN (SB Tourism Committee Chairperson), National Government Agencies, and barangay officals of BLGU San Ignacio and Holy Cross. The meeting aimed to organized Barangay Tourism Councils in each barangays to become the oversight to tourism and to gather issues and challenges of the establishment connected to tourism. This activity harmonized with the provincial thrust of Davao Oriental Beautiful. Indeed, the barangays of San Ignacio, Holy Cross and Old Macopa have a lot to offer especially in Tourism.
